Testing of Metrobus vehicles on the new urban sections in Cuiabá began this Monday, July 27, 2026. Specifically, tests will be conducted between the Portagem and Coimbra B stations, as well as between the riverside area (Aeminium) and Praça da República.

This phase is particularly important for preparing operations on these sections and introduces a new urban dynamic that requires the attention of the entire population.

The number of Metrobus vehicles in circulation will increase gradually throughout August, allowing for operational simulation tests that closely mirror the planned operating schedule.

Removal of construction fencing highlights the need for caution

Most construction fencing and barriers separating the Metrobus lane will be progressively removed, eliminating the continuous physical barrier between the dedicated Metrobus lane and the rest of the public roadway—except in areas where finishing work is still underway and duly marked.

This new urban layout introduces a new reality for traffic and pedestrians in the city, underscoring the need for strict adherence to safety rules by both pedestrians and drivers.

For this reason, we emphasize the need for safe sharing of public space and compliance with the following rules:

• No entering the lane: the Metrobus lane is reserved exclusively for its vehicles; walking, running, or traveling via any mode of transport along the lane is strictly prohibited.

• Cross only at designated crossings: pedestrians must use marked crossings and ensure it is safe to do so before crossing.

• Avoid distractions: using mobile phones or headphones near the lane is strongly discouraged, as it impairs the ability to detect approaching vehicles.

• Obey signage: drivers must strictly observe traffic lights, right-of-way rules, and all vertical and horizontal signage associated with the lane.

A new reality in motion

Regular Metrobus operations will soon become a constant feature in these areas of the city. Cooperation and caution from all road users—drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians—are essential to ensure the operation's success and the safety of the entire community.
