As part of the construction work on the urban section of the Metrobus Alto de São João – Portagem, under the responsibility of Infraestruturas de Portugal, the Santa Clara Bridge will be reopened to traffic this Friday (30/08) at the end of the afternoon. as expected. It is worth remembering that the closure of the bridge in August, during the school holidays, allowed the intervention time to be reduced, thus avoiding further constraints.
The image shows the road circuit scheme in this new phase of the construction of the future roundabout in the Portagem area, which will predictably end in the third week of September.
Therefore, anyone coming from the Parque Verde area and wanting to go to the Santa Clara Bridge will have to go around the Estação Nova area to enter the bridge. Alternatively, you can take Avenida da Lousã, Avenida Urbano Duarte, Ponte Rainha Santa (whose paving work has already finished) and Avenida Inês de Castro. Those coming from Ponte de Santa Clara and wanting to go to Avenida Fernão de Magalhães will have to turn around at the roundabout next to Águas de Coimbra.
During this phase, access to Ferreira Borges and Couraca da Estrela streets will be removed through Largo da Portagem, with access to these streets continuing through the other entrances.
Considering the various constraints inherent to the work in progress, within the scope of the Metrobus infrastructure construction works, it is recommended to use navigation aids, such as Waze and Google Maps, where the constraints are inserted, thus being able to always know the best route in real time.
