As part of the construction work on the urban section of the Metrobus Avenida Aeminium – Hospital Pediátrico, under the responsibility of Infraestruturas de Portugal, it will be necessary to implement traffic conditioning on Rua Henriques Seco, at its intersection with Rua Lourenço de Almeida de Azevedo and on Rua Augusto Rocha, from Tuesday, July 23rd.
The image shows the scheme of alternative road circuits during the intervention, which has an estimated duration of 155 days.
Thus, Rua Augusto Rocha will be completely closed with the exception of access to residents, which will be via Largo da Cruz de Celas.
As for access to the Maternity emergency room, this will be via Rua Augusta, which now has two roads with traffic in both directions (upward and downward). Parking in both directions is prohibited. This change implies that the stop for the Municipalized Urban Transport Services of Coimbra (SMTUC) on Rua Augusto Rocha will be moved to Rua Augusta.
Road traffic between Rua Lourenço de Almeida Azevedo and Cruz de Celas will have to be carried out via Rua do Instituto Maternal and Rua Augusta.
As for access to Rua do Instituto Maternal from Avenida Afonso Henriques, the alternative is via Rua Correia de Teles and Rua Pedro Monteiro to Rua Lourenço de Almeida Azevedo.
Pedestrian circulation will be ensured, as well as the circulation of emergency vehicles.
The work to be carried out is as follows:
- Interventions in Águas de Coimbra infrastructures, namely in the water supply, residual drainage and rainwater drainage networks;
Traffic lights;
- Execution of electrical infrastructures and gas network;
- Execution of the road technical channel;
- Road paving and placement of curbstones;
- Placing signage and security;
- Remodeling of the public lighting network.
Considering the various constraints inherent to the work in progress, within the scope of the Metrobus infrastructure construction works, it is recommended to use navigation aids, such as Waze and Google Maps, where the constraints are inserted, thus being able to always know the best route in real time.
