In the continuation of construction work on the urban section Alto de São João – Metrobus Toll, under the responsibility of Infraestruturas de Portugal, a change in road and pedestrian circulation will be implemented from December 9th in the confluence area of Av. Emídio Navarro with Rua do Brasil, next to Parque Verde, essential for the safe execution of work.
This intervention, which is estimated to last 14 days, includes, in addition to the construction of the Metrobus “Parque” station, the following operations:
- Connection to the sanitation network;
- Telecommunications network connection;
- Execution and connection of gutters;
- Execution of curbs and paving;
- Urban integration.

Therefore, during this period, traffic coming from Rua de Olivença and Rua da Alegria with the intention of going to Avenida da Lousã will have to reverse gears at the Portagem roundabout.
Access to Rua de Olivença for those coming from Portagem will now be done in the new U-turn zone, a little further ahead of the current one. Both this flow and the connection between Rua do Brasil and Avenida da Lousã will already be the definitive solutions.
During this period, the temporary stop of SMTUC and Alternative Services at Ramal da Lousã remains in the same location, as shown in the image above.
It should be noted that to guarantee safe conditions for pedestrian circulation, specific alternative routes will be created for pedestrians, duly identified on site and permanently monitored during the intervention.
