The application presented by Metro Mondego to the Sustainable Program 2030 for European financing of the Mondego Mobility System [SMM] was approved today. The project, with a budget of 43.4 million euros, will be supported with 36.9 million euros, by the Cohesion Fund, for the purchase of rolling stock and the electrical charging system and for the construction of the Material and Workshops, in Sobral de Ceira.
The SMM was considered an operation of strategic importance due to the contribution it makes to achieving the sustainability goals to which the country has committed and for its relevance in improving the quality of life of the populations covered.
