As part of the ongoing construction work on the Alto de São João – Portagem Metrobus urban section, carried out by Infraestruturas de Portugal, between June 7 (Saturday) and June 11 (Wednesday), a change in traffic flow will be implemented on Avenida Emídio Navarro, in Largo da Portagem, to carry out the final paving work on the Metrobus channel in this area, thus completing the entire paving of this section.
During this period, the alternative road route will be to turn around at the top of Avenida Emídio Navarro, as shown in the image.
Thus, for those coming from the Parque Verde area heading to Ponte de Santa Clara, the turnaround will be via Rua António Granjo, next to Estação Nova. For those coming from Ponte de Santa Clara heading to Avenida Fernão Magalhães, the turnaround will be at the intersection of Avenida da Lousã and Rua do Brasil (Ladeira do Batista), access to which will reopen this afternoon.
Pedestrian traffic, particularly crossings on Avenida Emídio Navarro, will be interrupted for short periods of time when paving is carried out at the specific location of these crossings.
With the completion of these final pavings of the Metrobus canal, with a colour that will distinguish it from the rest of the city's streets, the unevenness currently existing at the canal crossings will be eliminated, restoring normal traffic conditions on the roads.
