As part of the ongoing construction work on the Alto de São João – Toll section of the Mondego Mobility System (SMM), which is being carried out by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), a change in traffic flow will be implemented in the area where Avenida Emídio Navarro meets Rua do Brasil. This is essential for the safe execution of the work, which will take place from 24 March, Monday, for approximately 40 days.
During this period, work will be carried out on the road next to the Livensa Living student residence building, namely the construction of infrastructure (sanitation, telecommunications, storm water), paving and urban integration.
The image shows the traffic flows and the public transport stopping areas.
Therefore, traffic in the direction Rua do Brasil > Portagem will be carried out via the Metrobus channel. Traffic in the opposite direction will remain as it is, however, it will no longer be possible to reverse course at the Prio service station, with the alternative being via Avenida da Lousã, Avenida Urbano Duarte and Rua do Brasil.
Access from Rua da Alegria to Avenida Emídio Navarro will be unavailable, so from the Águas de Coimbra building this street will temporarily be a two-way street.
It should be noted that the bus stop that will be made available on the river side will be the permanent one. The bus stop currently located next to the student residence will be moved further forward to the existing pole before the cut to Rua de Olivença.
The pedestrian routes will remain unchanged, with only occasional changes to the building area, since the intervention perimeter covers this limit.
