Metrobus resumes operation on the suburban section, between Sobral de Ceira and Lousã-Estação

Metro Mondego (MM) informs that regular Metrobus service will resume from 1:00 PM this Saturday, February 21st, on the suburban section between Sobral de Ceira and Lousã-Estação, maintaining the schedules that were in effect before the service suspension.

On the same day, February 21st, alternative services, currently operated by road transport companies contracted by MM, will also be offered, maintaining the previously posted schedules. From Sunday, February 22nd, these services will cease operating, except for the connection between Serpins and Lousã.

Regarding the service between Serpins and Lousã-Estação, due to the unstable slope at PK (KM) 33+700, operation of this connection by Metrobus is not feasible. For this reason, until the aforementioned structural problems are overcome, which is expected to take about 6 months, the Casal de Espírito Santo, Casal de Santo António and Serpins stations will be served by an alternative service whose timetable is attached and is available on MM's digital platforms (website and social networks).

As is public knowledge, the region in general and MM in particular have faced extreme weather conditions in recent weeks, which have given rise to severe pathologies in the system's infrastructure, and every effort has been made to put the Metrobus back into service as soon as possible, albeit with occasional limitations.

MM sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks everyone for their understanding.
