While the construction of Mondego’s Mobility System is ongoing, Metro Mondego is ensuring road transport services (Lousã Bus Line) between Coimbra and Serpins.

Important information:
The ticket must be purchased at the ticket offices. Whenever the ticket office is closed or the stop does not have a ticket office, tickets can be purchased from the bus driver.
Vending machines are available at the Metrobus stations of Lousã-Estação, Lousã-Parque de Exposições, Miranda do Corvo (south side) and São José (two machines) where it is possible to carry out the following operations relating to Alternative Services:
• Ticket sales;
• Card top-up.
The machines accept all payment methods, including cash, bank card and QRCode.

• Ticket sales;

The machines accept all payment methods, including cash, bank card and QRCode.
- Official identification document, proof of age: Citizen's Card, Identity Card, Driver's License or Passport.
- Completion of the Request Template (normal card cost - €6.00).
The card is issued on the spot.
- Youth pass, for passengers aged up to 25;
- Pass 4_18 and Sub23 Pass, for passengers aged between 4 and 23.
- Children aged between 5 and 12 years old inclusive (children up to 3 years old, when accompanied by adults, have the right to travel free of charge, as long as they do not occupy a seat);
- Adults aged 65 or over;
- Retirees and pensioners, regardless of their age, upon presentation of the Golden Card issued by CP.
Young people up to and including 25 years old benefit from a 25% discount on the ticket price. With a Youth Card, you can benefit from this discount up to and including 30 years of age.
- Normal Service when serving all stops on the network;
- Direct Service, a non-stop route between two locations;
- Semi-direct service when serving only a few stops on the network.
All young people, aged 4 to 23, can take advantage of these passes, regardless of whether they attend educational units or not.
Students up to and including the age of 24, who attend courses with an integrated study cycle, in accordance with article 19. Decree-Law no. 65/2018 of 16 August, namely Architecture and Urbanism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Medicine Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, they must prove their enrollment in a teaching unit to benefit from the free course.
Some questions about transfers:
- What is the reason for the road transfer between Coimbra B and Coimbra (Estação Nova)?
With the construction of the Sistema de Mobilidade do Mondego (SMM) the railway connection between the two stations will be disabled permanently, on the 12th of January.
- How long will last this road transfer?
The works on this section of the SMM, carried out by IP, should be completed by the end of 2025, allowing the Metrobus to operate, from that date on, the connection between Portagem and
Coimbra B.
- Are there costs for this road transfer?
The road transfer, only for CP costumers, is free.
- What are the existing stops?
The transfer has two main stops, Coimbra B and Estação Nova, and an intermediate stop on Avenida Fernão Magalhães just for dropping off passengers towards Coimbra B > Estação Nova.
- How far in advance should I use the transfer?
It is convenient for users to plan their trips, saving some time on connections that precede, particularly alpha and intercity services.
- Do I have a connection at the time I usually use it?
The timetables were elaborated to be in line with the railway service, meaning, there will always be a road transfer to match CP timetables, allowing the connection from Coimbra B to
Coimbra (Estação Nova) station area and vice-versa.
- How long is the estimated time for the road transfer between the two stations?
The journey takes about 10 minutes.
- In the future, how long will the Metrobus travel time be?
The journey from Coimbra B to Portagem will last 6,4 minutes, stopping at four stations along the way: Casa do Sal (1,7' from Coimbra B), Açude (2,8' from Coimbra B), Arnado (4,0' from
Coimbra B) and Aeminium.
