Suspension of operations on the suburban section due to safety concerns following a landslide in Sobral de Ceira

Metro Mondego (MM) informs that the Metrobus operation on the suburban section, between the Sobral de Ceira and Lousã stations, will be temporarily suspended due to a landslide, preventing the circulation of vehicles on the track.

According to information provided by technicians and Civil Protection, the conditions for safe circulation on that section are not met. This is a preventive measure, intended to protect passengers and workers, given the risk of landslides and falling trees.

The company is making every effort to ensure that the intervention on the slope allows the suburban section to be restored as quickly as possible, which is estimated to occur within 2 (two) weeks.

In addition, it is proceeding with the contracting of the alternative service for this period. In this context, connections between Sobral de Ceira and Serpins (in both directions) will be made by an alternative transport service, whose schedules are presented in the annex, which are also available on MM's social networks and website.

The services now available guarantee access to all stations served, despite the existing interruption on the EM 633. As soon as it is possible for vehicles to circulate on that road, the schedules will be adjusted accordingly.

The normalization of the service will occur as soon as possible.

We deeply regret this situation and thank everyone for their understanding.
